WTC Final 2023: Seven Indian Players set to leave for England on Tuesday

The WTC Final 2023 will be played at the Oval in London. The final frontier between the two best-ranked Test teams India and Australia starts on June 7 and may continue till June 12 including the reserve day.

As the ongoing IPL 2023 has delayed the Indian team’s arrival in England, seven players of the current squad may take the flight to London tomorrow (May 23), according to Sportstar.

The report also suggests the players who will leave for England this week are those whose teams have already been eliminated from the IPL.

India’s premier batter Virat Kohli is set to fly on Tuesday, whereas Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel are also in the first list of travelling players. The remaining four comprise of India’s four pacers – KKR duo Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav, along with Kohli’s RCB colleague Mohammed Siraj and LSG’s Jaydev Unadkat.

Both Umesh and Unadkat have played limited IPL as they were carrying niggles. The former was being taken care by the KKR medical staff, whereas Unadkat was ruled out of the LSG squad and spent the last few weeks at NCA.

Cheteshwar Pujara is already in England as he has been playing county cricket this summer. India captain Rohit Sharma, spinner Ravindra Jadeja are among the players who will take the flight later due to their IPL involvements.
