The India captain was earlier signed by the IPL broadcasters Star Sports, but has reportedly switched his allegiance to the digital platform. JioCinema took the digital rights away from Star this year for the IPL and so far has seen enormous success.
And they seem to have won the tug-of-war for Rohit Sharma as well. The India player, who is also the captain of Mumbai Indians in IPL, will be featuring in JioCinema ads and promos which will be taking over the digital platform soon.
“Star cricketer and captain of Indian men’s team Rohit Sharma has come onboard as the brand ambassador for JioCinema. He’s moved to digital from TV. This shows that JioCinema is not just gaining industry talent, viewers and advertisers but star brand ambassadors too,” a JioCinema official said to India.com
