The Babar Azam-led side produced a clinical show with the bat in the first of five-match series on Friday (April 14) and won the match by 88 runs against the tourists who looked rusty.
After winning the toss in the second T20I, the Pakistan skipper invited New Zealand captain Tom Latham and his band to bat first on Saturday on April 15.
Solid start for Pakistan in powerplay
The opening stand between Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan is now worth 50. These two live up to the reputation and keep giving Pakistan the start they aimed for. Pakistan reach 59/0 after 6 overs.
Rizwan breaks the shackes
Mohd Rizwan hits Shipley for four over fine leg boundary on the first ball of the fifth over. He then hammers the pacer for a maximum over deep mid-wicket. Later, Rizwan hit the third boundary in the over and on the final ball of the over Babar Azam hit a four. 20 runs came from that over and Pakistan reach 40 without loss in 5 overs. Superb start!
Ben Lister comes into the attack
New Zealand skipper Tom Latham introduces left-arm pacer Ben Lister in the fourth over with the hopes of breaking the opening partnership. But Rizwan plays brilliant shot on the fourth delivery and gets a boundary.
Pakistan 20/0 after 3 overs
Another tidy over from Matt Henry as he concedes just 8 runs off it and Pakistan reach 20 without any loss in the 2nd T20I. Babar – 9* | Rizwan – 10*.
End of the 2nd over!
Right-arm pacer Henry Shipley bowls the second over for New Zealand but concedes 10 runs off it. Rizwan and Babar both hit the speedster for one boundary each in that over. Pakistan reach 12/0 after 2 overs.

PAK vs NZ 2nd T20I Toss Update
Hello and welcome to the live updates of the 2nd T20I between Pakistan vs New Zealand in Lahore. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has won the toss and elected to bat first against Tom Latham and Co.
The hosts scored 182 in 19.5 overs in the first T20I even as captain Babar (8) and Mohammed Rizwan (9) were dismissed in quick succession in the first innings. But Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub played brillaint cameos with the bat and guided their team to a big total.
Matt Henry became the fourth New Zealand bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the match and impressed everyone with his performance. However, the BlackCaps – who looked a little rusty in the first game – failed badly in the big run chase.
Latham and his teammates failed to offer any resistance with the bat and were bundled out for a paltry 94 in the run chase. New Zealand were all out in 15 overs in the big run chase.
Haris Rauf starred with the ball for Pakistan as he grabbed a four-for in 3.3 overs. The right-arm pacer floored the visitors with his batting effort and guided his team to a big win.
