PAK vs NZ: Pakistan left embarrassed after umpire stop play due to incorrect 30-yard circle; video viral


The first over of the match with a 30-yard circle which was not of thirty yards. On-field umpire Aleem Dar noticed the anomaly and took the help of the groundsmen to fix the issue. The play was halted for almost six minutes as Dar measured the circle with steps.

The pitch in Rawalpindi was changed but the 30-yard circle was left unchanged. Notably, the first ODI between the two sides was also played at the same venue. Pakistan had won that match by five wickets after chasing a 289-run target.

“This is interesting, they are changing the 30-yard circle,” the on-air commentator said in surprise as the female commentator on his side giggled and then laughed.

“They got a wrong measuring tape out earlier,” she chirped as Pakistan captain Babar Azam had a conversation with the umpire.

In the match, after being asked to bat first, New Zealand posted 336 runs for the loss of five wickets. Daryl Mitchell smashed his second consecutive hundred, while captain Tom Latham missed the 3-figure mark by two runs. Haris Rauf picked four wickets for Pakistan.
