LSG vs PBKS, IPL 2023: 4 Players Who Will Score Most Runs In Today’s Match

Punjab, on the other hand, have lost momentum after suffering back-to-back two defeats. They have dropped to the sixth spot. The side kicked off their campaigns with back-to-back wins but their batting woes have led to a major chaos in the team lately.

KL Rahul-led Lucknow would be entering the match on the back of a thrilling last-ball win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The side gunned down 213 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.

As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the first time in the IPL 2023, let’s have a look at four batters who can score maximum runs in the match.

Quinton de Kock: With Kyle Mayers not scoring in the last two matches, Quinton de Kock is very likely to play his first match of the season on Saturday. He recently featured in a home T20I series against West Indies and scored 100 runs off just 44 balls in the second T20I.

The innings was studded with nine fours and eight sixes. De Kock has played 11 matches against Punjab Kings and scored 369 runs at an average of 36.90 and a strike rate of 126.80. The southpaw has smashed 39 fours and 11 sixes against the side.

KL Rahul: Lucknow captain KL Rahul is going through a lean path but a quality knock is always round the corner from him. He has a knack of bouncing back with a blistering knock and his outing against his former team can be that innings.

However, Punjab is a team he has failed to get going against in the past. He has played seven matches against PBKS in the past and scored 116 runs in six innings at an strike rate of 139.75 and an average of 29. He has stayed unbeaten on two occasions.

In the IPL 2023, the 30-year-old has scored 81 runs in four matches at an average of 20.25 and a strike rate of 100. The extreme pressure on hism is expected to bring the best out of him in a home match.

Shikhar Dhawan: The Punjab Kings captain has been the standout performer for his team so far. He is the current Orange Cap holder with 233 runs in four matches at an average of 116.50 and a strike rate of 146.54.

Not a single other batter from the team has managed to cross the 100-run mark in the season so far. Dhawan has played only one match against LSG and scored five runs from it.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa: The hard-hitting Sri Lankan southpaw is fit and back in the squad. In the three matches Rajapaksa has played in the season so far, he has scored 71 runs at an average of 35.50 and a strike rate of 120.33. He scored 50 runs in the first match.

In the second match he retired himself out for one after a cracking hit from his opening partner hit him on his arm. In the last match, he managed 20 runs. With the Punjab batting unit struggling, Dhawan and the Punjab management would be hoping for the star batter to come all guns blazing.

In the IPL 2022, he scored 206 runs at an average of 22.88 and a strike rate of 159.68.
