LSG and MI have already met once earlier this season in the league stage in Lucknow, where the Lucknow-based side rode on Marcus Stoinis’ unbeaten 89 followed by Ravi Bishnoi’s spell of 2 for 26 to seal a 5-run victory against the five-time champions.

The two sides will now clash for the second time this season and for the first time at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where several players including GT’s Hardik Pandya and CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja, have a chance to reach milestones or break records.
