IPL 2023: KL Rahul’s innings vs RCB most hideous in tournament history – Ex-India pacer Dodda Ganesh

Further, Ganesh has questioned Rahul’s intent and expressed shock at Rahul’s way of playing and consistent struggle at the highest levels of cricket. Notably, the 30-year-old has been recently criticised for his international form as well. He was sacked as India Test team vice-captain and later dropped from eleven.

In white-ball cricket too, Rahul scored match-winning 75 unbeaten runs against Australia in March before following it up with scores of 9 and 32 in the next two matches. At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, Rahul’s knock had almost cost LSG the match before Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30) and Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) rescued the team.

This is the second former India cricketer openly criticising Rahul for his horrendous run in recent times. Earlier, former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad had brought up the poor stats of the cricketer and alleged favouritism in Indian cricket in a series of tweets.

Rahul, who has scored 616, 626, 670, 593 and 659 runs in the last five seasons, have managed to score just 81 runs at an average of 20.25 and a strike rate of 100 in the ongoing season.

LSG play their next match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday, April 15.
