IPL 2023: JioCinema creates viewership World Record in Qualifier 1 between CSK and GT

The stadium was jam-packed with a capacity crowd of 50,000 – whereas it was many folds more watching on TV and streaming through various platforms.

And during the match, IPL 2023 digital broadcasters JioCinema created a World Record with 2.5 Cr. concurrent viewers during the match.

JioCinema not only broke its own record for the third time this season but also equalled the World Record set during India vs New Zealand Semi-Final in the ICC 2019 World Cup.

On April 17, 2.4 Cr. viewers came together to watch MS Dhoni’s CSK defend against a high-octane run chase from Royal Challengers Bangalore with bated breath at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This record bettered a 2.2 Cr. viewership in a previous CSK match against Rajasthan Royals.

JioCinema will be hoping to garner more concurrent viewers as MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings have booked a place in the Final.

CSK, who will play an IPL Final for the 10th time, will be taking on the winner of Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 28).
