RCB batters Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have scored the majority of runs for them. Du Plessis, who is also the RCB captain, has 343 runs so far while Kohli has amassed 279 runs. Du Plessis is at the summit of Orange Cap list, while Kohli is sitting 3rd in the list.
RCB won their last match against Punjab Kings and will be hoping to continue their winning momentum as they take on Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
Siraj RCB’s difference maker: Irfan Pathan
And according to former India player Irfan Pathan, it is someone else who has been the difference maker for the Bangalore outfit. Pathan reckons Mohammed Siraj is the key performer for RCB so far this season.
“Mohammed Siraj has bowled excellently in the powerplay this season for RCB. He’s really making a difference for them. There is a big and positive difference in his bowling compared to last year,” Pathan said while speaking to Star Sports Cricket Live.
Siraj is different in IPL 2023
Siraj has been excellent for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. The India pacer has 12 wickets so far, ranking 2nd in the Purple Cap list. The Hyderabad-born speedster has also bowled with renewed vigour and has an impressive economy rate of just 6.71.
The 29-year-old has picked up at least one wicket in all the IPL 2023 matches, and has bowled with an economy of less than six in four out of the first six matches.
Pathan also added that the radical change in Siraj’s bowling has earned him the role of the premier bowler in the RCB team. Siraj has so far honed the responsibility in style and has emerged as one of the premier bowlers in the IPL this season.
Siraj has bowled the most number of dot balls in the powerplay and has been hard to get away. His bowling line and length has been impeccable, and so has his body language, which has played a pivotal part in Siraj’s rejuvenated outing thus far this season.
