It was a decent season for them to be honest. Players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler had a terrific season with the bat, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal was excellent with the ball, becoming the highest wicket-taker in IPL as he surpassed Dwayne Bravo.
They will be pretty content with their squad though. Youngsters like Dhruv Jurel, Kuldip Yadav impressed and big names such as Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shimron Hetmyer also had a decent season.
But as the next season approaches, RR may well be tempted to reshuffle their squad and make some tweaks. We are certain to see a new set of players coming in next season, which means there will be some offloading as well.
Players Rajasthan Royals may release ahead of IPL 2024
Here are some of the players Rajasthan Royals may release ahead of next season-
RR signed KC Cariappa but the 29-year-old couldn’t manage a game. He made his IPL debut in 2015 but has only featured in 11 matches across all the years.
Despite being a rare mystery spinner, the player never flourished in any of his previous franchises and it happened the same with Royals as well. With the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin and Murugan Ashwin in the team, Cariappa may have to seek pastures new next season.
Navdeep Saini’s struggle in IPL continues. The fast bowler broke out with RCB a few years ago which also earned him place in the India squad. But the Karnal-born pacer has been dismal in the last few seasons.
He played only 2 matches for RR and was taken apart by SRH batter Abdul Samad in one of those matches. The bowler went for 12.33 runs per over in those matches and could never make a return to the team afterwards. It looks likely RR may offload him next season.

Obed McCoy had a decent last season with RR. They retained the West Indies bowler for this year but never got going this season. McCoy could manage only one appearance and bowled a single over in the entire tournament.
With many options set to arrive in the next auction table, RR may release the left-arm pacer.
Joe Root is one of the stalwarts of Test cricket. His selection in the IPL auction was a surprising one, and the Englishman could only manage 3 games under his belt.
He got the chance to bat only once and scored 10 runs off 15 balls in that crazy match against RCB where RR got bowled out for just 59 runs. It will be a surprise again if the Royals retain Root next season.
