Shubman Gill took charge after Gujarat Titans were asked to bat first by Mumbai Indians and brought up his fifty off 32 balls. However, the 23-year-old cricketer took only 17 more balls to reach his hundred with a single on the first delivery of the 15th over.
Gill did not stop there, the next 11 deliveries saw him score 29 more runs off 11 deliveries. The hundred was Gill’s third in his last four innings. He was GT’s highest run-scorer in the Qualifier 1 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as well.
During the course of the knock Gill overtook Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis to become the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2023 season. The innings helped GT post 233/3 in 20 overs and Gill create and break numerous records. Let’s have a look.
