Both teams will look to seal the final spot as Hardik Pandya-led GT will look to bounce back from the Qualifier 1 loss to Chennai Super Kings, while Rohit Sharma’s MI aim to carry the winning momentum from their Eliminator victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
The winner of the match will face four-time winners Chennai Super Kings in the final on Sunday (May 28) at the same venue. CSK beat GT in qualifier 1 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (May 23) to book a direct entry into the summit clash.
GT will be a confident side, having beaten the Mumbai Indians at home earlier this season. But will be wary of Mumbai Indians outstanding record in playoffs and the overall record. The five-time champions, however, possess a poor record during their limited visits to Ahmedabad.

In the 3 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, it’s 2-1 in favour of MI, who beat GT in the head-to-head battles so far. While the defending champions beat the record champions earlier this season in Ahmedabad, MI beat GT in IPL 2022 and IPL 2023 league stage.
