With the win, Sunrisers Hyderabad have gone up to 8th place and now has 6 points after playing eight matches. Delhi Capitals remain at the bottom of the pile with 4 points to their name after 8 matches.
The immensely talented Abhishek Sharma slammed a 36-ball 67 to set the stage for Heinrich Klaasen, who provided the final flourish with an unbeaten 53 as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted an impressive 197 for 6 on a sluggish track against Delhi Capitals in an IPL match, here on Saturday.
Back at the top, Abhishek seemed to be batting on a different track, slamming 12 fours and a six, even as the others struggled on the two-paced wicket. While the southpaw looked in good rhythm, the rest of the top and middle order continued to disappoint, scoring in single digits.
Mitchell Marsh shined for DC with the ball as the Australian picked up 4 wickets.
In reply, DC had a disastrous start as captain David Warner departed without troubling the scorers. Philip Salt and Mitchell Marsh were outstanding and the pair added 112 runs for the 2nd wicket.

But as Salt departed for 59 off 35 balls, the DC inning crumbled and failed to gain any sort of momentum. Marsh also followed him to the hud after a brilliant 63 runs. But Manish Pandey (1 off 3), Sarfaraz Khan (9 off 10) couldn’t continue the momentum as DC scored only 38 runs in six overs (from overs 11 to 17).
Despite Axar Patel’s late flurry of 29 runs, they fell short of 9 runs and could only manage 188/6 at the end of their full quota of overs. Mayank Markande was excellent again for SRH, as the leg-spinner finished with superb figures of 2/20 in his four overs.
