DC vs MI IPL 2023 Live Updates: Delhi Capitals caught in Piyush Chawla’s spin web

Both teams are winless so far in the competition and by the end of this day, there will be one team that will open its account on the points table with two vital points in their kitty.

MI – who are coming on the back of two successive defeats – will be led by their inspirational and five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma. While Delhi Capitals – who are languishing at number 10 in the points table with three defeats – are being captained by David Warner.

Warner – who lifted the IPL trophy in 2016 as Sunrisers Hyderabad captain – will be aiming to lead his team from the front because four consecutive defeats in the first half of the season will certainly dent his team’s morale badly.

Mumbai Indians – who also finished tenth in the previous edition – will be aiming to change their fortunes in the new season but their performance in the first two games has been disappointing.

MI’s batting has been below-par as big names in the team like Rohit, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tim David have all failed to deliver. However, young Tilak Varma has certainly raised his stocks in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals’ storyline hasn’t been any different as coach Ricky Ponting’s side has failed to put up a combined effort. Their key batters, including skipper Warner, have let the team down and bowlers leaked runs at critical stages.

Against Mumbai, the hosts would be aiming to return to winning ways and kick-start their campaign in the tournament with a victory.
