DC captain David Warner confirms recovery of stolen bat and equipments, culprits found


According to DC captain David Warner, the stolen equipments of the DC team has been found and the stealers have been caught.

The Delhi team lost a few of their equipment en route to Delhi after their RCB game in Bangalore. Some of their players found their kits were missing after landing in Delhi.

The equipment included 16 bats along with pads, shoes, thigh pads and gloves – which were stolen from the players’ kit bags. Three of those bats belong to David Warner and Phillip Salt each, while Mitchell Marsh and Yash Dhull lost 2 and 5 bats respectively.

But on Friday, the DC captain shared an Instagram story confirming those stolen items mostly have been recuperated. He shared an image of those equipments and confirmed there were still a few bats missing.

The player also confirmed the culprits were found and thanked the respective authority. It is understood Delhi Capitals hired a logistic entity for the transportation and preservation of their kits and other equipment across all venues during IPL 2023.

In the image shared by David Warner, 11 of the bats have been captured which tentatively suggests the culprits may still possess 5 more bats.

The identity of the culprits is yet to come to light but the DC team will take another piece of positive going into their next IPL match on Monday. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
