Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s CSK reached the final after a 15-run victory over GT in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while the Titans led by Hardik Pandya reached their second final in a row following a 62-run win over Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2.
CSK will be a confident side, having defeated the Titans recently. But the MS Dhoni-led side will be wary of their overall record against the reigning champions and also their winless run during their visits to Ahmedabad.
CSK vs GT Head-to-Head
In the 4 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, it’s advantage GT, who have won three matches, including the league stage fixture earlier this season, but CSK won the most recent outing.
In the earlier meetings, GT first beat CSK by 3 wickets followed by a 7-wicket win in 2022, and the 5-wicket win in 2023, but CSK got the better of GT by 15 runs in the most recent meeting.
In Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, CSK and GT have clashed only once so far, but the hosts GT, have a good experience of playing at their home venue, where they hold a decent record overall. CSK too have played three times at the venue in IPL.

In the qualifier 1 meeting between the two sides in Chennai, CSK rode on Gaikwad’s 60 to set a target of 173 and bundled out GT for 157 thanks to an all-round bowling effort led by Ravindra Jadeja, who ended with figures of 2 for 18 in 4 overs.
